GCSE Options- Do you have to pick a Performing arts Subject?

Dalia Causby: Do French. Without a doubt if I was picking my GCSE's again, I'd pick French. There is nothing wrong with performing arts BUT as the world is opening up more to international trade, employers are looking for people who are bi-lingual, you will have an advantage at a job interview over someone who only speaks English if you have another language.You don't have to have a performing arts subject, it's not mandatory according to the government and I think if your school was going to insist that you took a performing arts subject they would have told you when you started looking at your options.However saying all that, there's no point in taking a subject if you ! don't enjoy it. You're going to have to sit in those lessons for the next two years, make sure you like your choices and you're not just picking them because teachers think you'd be good at them or your parents are telling you to take them...Show more
