Andra Oger: Let me elaborate. When software developers make a program are limited by the hardware. Like how some programs are made to work with a single core.
Brittanie Zakutney: Basically the way it works is that the software can run on all hardware, but the software's abilities will be limited by the speed and power of the hardware. Games are the easiest example. All games will work on DDR2 and DDR3 RAM, but they will run slower on DDR2 just because DDR2 is slower almost all the time. It's the same with CPU's, the socket only matters to the motherboard, not the software. The main exception is Graphics Cards, some games may not work at all with older cards because they do not have the required compatibility with certain revisions of DirectX for example....Show more
Verdie Wollen: Hardware dependency is always there while developing a software but the thing you're talking about, its the job of OS and Framework in which you're developing your software. Dependenc! y exists in terms of size of memory required and platform etc.
