Why don't they make the child safety lock accessible from inside the car?

Bianca Lannier: Because if you were lucky enough to get your date in the back seat, she'd be able to escape more easily! If the lock was inside with the other lock it defeats the purpose so you might as well only have the original locks as they usually can't reach them from a CARSEAT.

Pamela Meno: Because it is safer this way, it forces you to get out of the vehicle to open the door...........

Anton Waln: I hope this helps. Before CB radios, there was a light-flash code used by truckers:1 flash means the road ahead is clear.2 flashes means speed trap ahead.3 flashes means there is a wreck or some other problem on the highway ahead, but you can get around it. The road is not totally blocked.4 flashes means there is a wreck or some other problem on the highway ahead, and traffic is completely blocked....Show more

Georgianna Zollo: If your vehicle is rear wheel drive, put them on the back tires, if it's front wheel drive, put them on the front tires.

Bi! llie Bratchett: If you put snow tires on the front of a front drive car, in slippery conditions, when you let off the gas, the back of the car will pass the front. Front drive or rear wheel drive, snow tires go on the back. Obviously, all 4 corners is best, especially studded. Studs double traction on ice.

Cordia Fivecoat: That would kind of defeat the purpose of a child safety lock, wouldn't it?

Lourie Mcroberts: no matter WHAT you do with your lights you never get special privileges. all motor vehicle laws apply to you. the only way to have any special privileges is to be driving an emergency vehicle. yes that is a common signal used at stop signs BUT it is not law anyplace. if you flash your lights to signal others that YOU ARE COMING THROUGH and you did not have the legal right of way at the time...then YOU are at fault if there is an accident and YOU can and will be held criminally liable if a death or injury results !!!!!!...Show more

Stevie Goldey:! Simple answer is , it would defeat the purpose if the child c! ould open it. That's why they are placed where they are, on the door or door frame.

Robt Betker: Flashing of lights doesn't technically mean anything. If I saw you flash your lights at me, I would take it to mean that you are being polite, and allowing me to do whatever I am signalling that I want to do.Eg. If a lorry has its indicator on to pull into a gap in the overtaking lane that is a bit small for it, then the person behind the gap could pull back a little and flash their lights. The lorry driver might then thank you by twiddleing his indicators. In Britain, at least, it means you are giveing up your right of way so someone else can do something....Show more

Rose Krouse: You must convince the examiner that you are bringing the car to a halt as quickly as possible and as safely as possible: if the examiner does jerk forward then that is just a natural consequence of rapid deceleration and as he asked you to do it then he should be prepared for it. Things may ! have changed, but in my day it was permitted to allow the engine to stall if unable to hit the clutch quickly enough, but with an automatic this is not a problem anyway.Your objective in this situation is purely and simply to stop the car - do not worry about signalling or changing lane or even moving into the side of the road: any other action apart from applying the brakes may cause you to lose control. The simplest way to get it right is to practice on an empty area of tarmac, so that you can learn how hard to brake without risking locking up the roadwheels.Don't forget, your examiner will mark you down if you do not apply the parking brake once you have stopped......Show more

Lady Laflin: when you flash your lights you are signaling that you cede passage to allow the other vehicle to go. grandad has told me to add remember to flash your lights when going around tight corners at night so as to warn any potentially oncoming traffic that you are coming through. In th! e daytime a little honk on your horn does the same job!!!Sometimes flas! hing your lights warns others that there is something amiss with their vehicle 9brakelight not working, door not closed properly), Flashing is even a polite warning of a policeman with a speedgun round the next corner (Grandad reminds me how illegal that is). Everynow and again a raged up crazy dude will tailgate you and flash til you get out the way... I tend to brake and go even slower!!! hehehe!!!...Show more

Michel Mccaulley: If it was accessible from inside, the kid would unlock it and open the door whole driving, right?? It is not there to keep kids from opening the door from the outside while driving down the highway. That would be a very fast kid!

Maryland Gareau: because then the child will be able to disable the lock DUH

Peggy Sandefer: If you already have the right-of-way and the others should know it (they have a stop sign, you do not) then it can be a useful warning. If you don't have the right-of-way, you can't GET it by flashing lights at ! people and refusing to stop. That'll just get you in an accident, because some people will deliberately pull out to defy you. Now, if you are an ambulance it's somewhat different, you can ask for the right of way by flashing at people but you still must prepare to stop because some people are inattentive, stupid etc. At a stop sign, you should just go when it's your turn. Don't confuse people by doing something unexpected, that reduces safety by introducing confusion....Show more

Dewey Heersink: so the kid doesnt accidentally unlock it himself

Bruce Calise: Because the kid could undo it! And it has to be mechanical (thus inside the door)

Antonia Boomershine: I can only afford two mud and snow tires and I live in the snow storm, should I put them in the front axle or the rear axle, I dont want to skid into something.

Reyes Brunell: I had a real pithy answer for this one but I'll just agree with the rest of the responders and leave it at that. It'! s out of the way for a reason. Think about it.

Denna Prudente: At! a stop sign I know flashing your lights gives right of way to the other drivers. But while driving, in motion, does it warn others not to proceed, 'Im comin through'?

Janita Tetlow: Because then it is accessible to the child and would defeat the whole purpose of having one

Dee Depung: Try buying a pair of used snow tires. that would be cheaper than buying new ones. That way you can have snow tires on all four wheels. I once read some advice from a tire manufacturer and they said that if you were only buying two new tires that it might SEEM the right thing to do to put them on the front drive wheels because they carry most of the weight and do the driving.....but the correct advice is counter-intuitive and you should actually put them on the back wheels because the back is lite weight and needs the traction of the new tires more than the front wheels because it can break away easier. So when choosing which wheels need the better traction tires more....it's the b! ack wheels....Show more

Reginald Maxi: an automatic car? do i press down on the break fully all at once or gradually so as not to jut the examiner forward??

Shandi Wedge: Only emergency vehicles can flash lights as far as I know and have never seen anyone flash lights at stop sign. If you see someone flashing there lights behind you I would just let them by they may be heading for hospital or to a family emergency. If you see oncoming vehicles flashing lights while approaching you then either you don't have your light on or they are warning of speed trap ahead. Many states have new laws in place that if it is precipitating you must have head lights on....Show more

Blythe Noreiga: because the child will be able to disable the child lock, thus making child-safety locks redundant

Cyndy Grimes: You want to ease into the break as quickly as possible, if on a 2 or more lane road, turn ur signal on and get into the farthest right lane and come to a complet! e stop... every other car will be doing the same unless they wana risk ! getting arrested

Raleigh Lufkin: Flashing the hazard lights should mean "I have a mechanical problem and am trying to limp the car along." I have seen some people with the hazard lights on while driving that seem to be showing no signs of problems and am not sure what that means.Flashing headlights can mean a couple of things. Here are some pretty common meanings in different circumstances:Car in oncoming lane: "Your lights are off, and you need to turn them on." or "There's a speed trap up ahead."Car behind you: "Could you let me pass?"...Show more

Paul Maymi: Thats the general rule.. but some ******* just flash their lights to get around traffic.. I hate those people..

Charlotte Bryar: i flash my lights as a 'go ahead' when i know someone is trying to switch lanes. i know that Big Rig signals are supposed to be pretty universal on the road but nobody ever teaches that in drivers education. A big rig will flash its lights at you to let you in and if you! let a rig in front of you by flashing your lights they will usually flash their rear lights at you as a thank you. I generally try to follow this rule of thumb.

Kenneth Blacker: This would be pointless as the little one will soon sort this out and open them when they wont to !

Arleen Bussing: I know flashing lights is NOT part of Motor Vehicle law. I'm simply speaking outside the letter of the law.

Jacques Vaquera: normally, flashing you lights warns of possible danger on the road... in Colorado, we flash lights to warn of animals or rocks in the road ahead. It has also been used as a sign of police presence ahead.

Paul Maymi: some issues, one a Cop, or a minimum of a wise one besides, doesn't search for a motor vehicle with out both detaining the man or with out different officials latest. 2, if the Officer became stupid sufficient to no longer do between both issues reported above, i trust he ought to, one, get on the radio and phone for lower b! ack up, 2, smash your domicile windows and smash out, 3, arrest you.
