Jade Ohno: I work in public health, and it pays my bills quite nicely. But it's not a big moneymaker, and you will NEVER be rich from a career in public health. Public health is a field you get into because you want to help people. So you'll be rich in spirirt and good karma, if that matters to you.Urban PH and health ed get you into the community, interacting with people. It's great, and it's quite rewarding. I enjoyed by stint in health ed very much. But you're not likely to ever make more than $60k doing it, unless you are director of a non-profit or some kind of high-level administrative position. Urban communities NEED health education because they've plagued by things like poverty, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, drug use, poor nutrition, and so much more. So ask yourself what matters more: a LOT of money, or just enough money plus a little something for your soul?...Show more
