investing question?

Arlen Decorte: You can't invest in stocks without paying a commission. Howver, some brokerages will run promotions where your first 50 trades are free, or something similar. To do this, you need to open a brokerage account at a place like Scott Trade or TD Ameritrade. But check them out first. Also, please realize how stupid it is to invest at 5%, 8%, or even 15% if you're in credit card debt at 20% plus. Your highest return on investment is going to come from paying off all your debt first. Then, take all the money you were throwing at debt and put that into savings/investments. You'll build wealth like crazy!...Show more

Shawn Lelis: none that i've found without a commission.

Lia Argall: matthew had some good advice pay off your debts first. as for no commissions zecco makes this "claim" but they have some serious customer service issues and I just flat out do not trust them. The last time a company did zero commissions they went out of business. Bank! of America also "offers" zero commission trades but you have to have 25k in other accounts before you can take advantage of this deal. investing online is easy if you know what you are doing....Show more
