What is he clinical term for a fear of communism? Is it commie-phobia?

Vida Miss: Semantics...an art form LOL

Gilberto Cratin: I am not sure there is a classification for it. I personally do not understand why there would be a fear. Many people have misconceptions about communism, and while I love America, the idea behind communism is not a bad one. The basic idea is that EVERY one is equal in all ways. From the leader of the nation, to doctors, and teachers, and janitors. Every one makes the same amount of money. It is something that will never come to be however, being that it takes every one to want it to work, and every one to make it work. Even one corrupt person in a "high" position can destroy it....Show more

I have a question about english 'd' sound?

I have a question about english 'd' sound?

answers 0:'What happened to you?''Someone nicked that.''What am i supposed to do?'in the sentences like this, do you pronounce the 'd' sound?answers 1:Purists would insist on the 'd' in 'happened to' etc being pronounced, but most people in Britain would drop the 'd' when followed by a strong consonant.answers 2:It means someone is evaluating or examine you (normally in a sensual manner).answers 3:No, you absolutely DO NOT. YOU DO NOT HEAR THOSE 'D'S AT ALL IN THOSE SENTENCES!!!In speech, the first two sentences are understood as the simple past by the ABSENCE of the 's' sound which would make them the simple present. "Supposed to" is a phrase that is, of course, the same in all tenses.'Happened' is always two syllables. 'Nicked' is always one syllable, and 'supposed to' is always three. With -ed, you only pronounce the 'd' if it is at the end of a ! sentence or clause or if it comes before a vowel or after a 'd' or a 't' sound; in which case, it would make it's own syllable. 'Needed' and 'acted' have two syllables, and you pronounce the 'd'....answers 4:oioi-no, ahah. i know enough italian that i know that was way off from what i was asking, thanks for trying though 😛answers 5:I don't think I understood what you really ask for, however, I'll try to state you how coniugate verbs with some examples( to eat ) = MANGIARE( I ate ) = io mangiAVO, io mangIAI( I've eaten ) = io ho mangiATO, io mangIAI( to drink ) = BERE( I drank ) = io bevEVO, io beVVI( I've drunk ) = io ho bevUTO, io beVVI( to sleep ) = DORMIRE( I splept ) = io dormIVO, io dormII , io ho dormITOdid you mean that?...answers 6:Yes you do pronounce itanswers 7:you dont say 'd' (dee) but you make the sound. Kind of like the vowels how you have A E I O U but you can pronounce the sounds as well.. the 'd' here wouldnt be a dee.... If that makes senseanswers ! 8:Any irregulars too if you know them, but only of common verb! s please (:Thanks!answers 9:You just want present tense for the regulars?-are: -o -i -a -iamo -ate -ano-ere: -o -i -e -iamo -ete -ono-ire: -o -i -e -iamo -ite -onoHope I Helped!xD...answers 10:go to google translateclick on englishtype the words inlisten to their pronunciationanswers 11:You can use this site http://www.italian-verbs.com/italian-verbs.htmJust type the Italian verb and it will conjugateanswers 12:Yes in English the D is sounded at the end of a word.It is never sounded like a T at the end of a word like in Dutch.answers 13:Check YOU out, means you're doing something admirably, in your own style, or in style but with a flair. Something noteworthy, something others need to see/look at. It's usually complimentary.answers 14:It means that person is impressed with you.

how does teaching affect society?

Marco Stolarz: This occupation will also give students a stepping stone for the grades they will attend in the future. For example, sixth grade gives students the education they will need for middle school, or seventh and eighth grade. Middle school or seventh and eighth grade will give students the education they will need for junior high, and high school. High school and Junior high will give students the education they will need if they attend college.

Leora Klingelhoets: Teaching affects society in three ways :- first by providing the students knowledge and tools that will be of use in their choice of a profession ;- second by providing access to culture in a more or less selective fashion ;- third by weakening or strengthening culture itself....Show more

Cuire encore quelques minutes. Servir chaud.

Laisser mijoter doucement.

Can an Egyptian male study abroad?

Freeman Rutkin: ask the school administrator or the embassy for more information

Oswaldo Rayburn: Nah man Egyptians have to stay in Egypt.

Nia Monopoli: To answer simply, Yes you can. After you have been accepted into a university in USA, they send you an I-20 and an acceptance later. You then pay $200 to homeland security. After that you call the embassy to confirm an appointment to get your visa and have an interview. You take both the I-20 and the acceptance to the embassy along with you financial statements and proofs of any real estates you own and English proficiency proof. Make sure you go after you make an appointment or they will not let you in. Do not take any phones or bags or cameras with to the embassy. After you get your visa, you take your passport with the visa in it, your I-20 which has how long your course is, and you take your acceptance letter to Edarat el tagneed which you can find in Helmeyat el zatoon. There they will issue you a certifi! cate with the duration of the study period to allow you to leave the country, this is usually issued in the same day so make sure u go early so u dont have to come back again.I would go to the nearest police station and confirm this as i did my tagneed e3fa a few years back. If the military personal in the police station cant give u solid answers go the edaret el tagneed. they will help you there. I also think you can be issued permission to leave before you even get the visa.Usually when you come back, because you studied abroad, they tend to give u a full E3fah as in u are exempt from your military service. good luck, btw, what university has accepted you? If you need any more help contact me at karimsalehazim@yahoo.comedit, my younger brother is also going to usa next year, so if you want to be updated, you can contact me and ill tell you the exact rules in case they changed....Show more

Rachal Osaki: Yes they can if you have a scholarship from a foreign university! .. it is easier if you have not graduated yet.

Esmeralda! Pigram: No, which explains why Morsi has such bad English.

Some quotations on peace please!

Inez Relihan: Give peace a chance

Heidy Fujikake: "Mankind must put an end to war or war will put an end to mankind." - John F. Kennedy"Violence as a way of achieving justice is both impractical and immoral. It is impractical because it is a descending spiral ending in destruction for all. The old law of an eye for an eye leaves everybody blind. It is immoral because it seeks to humiliate the opponent rather than win his understanding; it seeks to annihilate rather than to convert. Violence is immoral because it thrives on hatred rather than love. It destroys a community and makes brotherhood impossible. It leaves society in monologue rather than dialogue. Violence ends by defeating itself. It creates bitterness in the survivors and brutality in the destroyers." - Martin Luther King, Jr."War does not determine who is right; only who is left." - Unknown"For this cause I too am prepared to die, but for no cause, my friend, will I be prepared to kill." - Mahatma Gandhi! "If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there'd be peace." - John Lennon...Show more

Booker Moros: PEACE is so overrated...

Cliff Tyre: Peace is the marriage of the people and the planet, with all attendant vows. -- Anonymous Peace comes from being able to contribute the best that we have, and all that we are, toward creating a world that supports everyone. But it is also securing the space for others to contribute the best that they have and all that they are. -- Hafsat Abiola In some ways, the challenges are even more daunting than they were at the peak of the cold war. Not only do we continue to face grave nuclear threats, but those threats are being compounded by new weapons developments, new violence within States and new challenges to the rule of law. -- Kofi Annan There is no trust more sacred than the one the world holds with children. There is no duty more important than ensuring that their rights are respecte! d, that their welfare is protected, that their lives are free ! from fear and want and that they grow up in peace. -- Kofi Annan The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us. -- Black Elk (1863-1950) There is no time left for anything but to make peacework a dimension of our every waking activity. -- Elise Boulding Democracy is an objective. Democratization is a process. Democratization serves the cause of peace because it offers the possibility of justice and of progressive change without force. -- Boutros Boutros-Ghali Better than a thousand hollow words is one word that brings peace. -- Buddha (560-483 B.C.) Peace, to have meaning for many who have only known suffering in both peace and war, must be translated into bread or ! rice, shelter, health and education, as well as freedom and human dignity. -- Ralph Johnson Bunche (1904-1971) Do you know what astonished me most in the world? The inability of force to create anything. In the long run the sword is always beaten by the spirit. Soldiers usually win battles and generals get the credit for them. You must not fight too often with one enemy, or you will teach him all your art of war. If they want peace, nations should avoid the pin-pricks that precede cannon shots. -- Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) Peace is the only battle worth waging. -- Albert Camus (1913-1960) We know how to organize warfare, but do we know how to act when confronted with peace? -- Jacques-Yves Cousteau (1910-1997) Human Beings, indeed all sentient beings, have the right to pursue happiness and live in peace and freedom. -- The XIVth Dalai Lama Peace, in the sense of the absence of war, is of little value to someone who is dying of hunger or cold. ! It will not remove the pain of torture inflicted on a prisoner of consc! ience. It does not comfort those who have lost their loved ones in floods caused by senseless deforestation in a neighboring country. Peace can only last where human rights are respected, where people are fed, and where individuals and nations are free. -- The XIVth Dalai Lama If you want to make peace, you don't talk to your friends. You talk to your enemies. -- Moshe Dayan (1915-1981) Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding. -- Albert Einstein (1979-1955) There can be no peace without law. -- Dwight D. Eisenhower (1890-1969) I like to believe that people in the long run are going to do more to promote peace than our governments. Indeed, I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it. -- Dwight D. Eisenhower (1890-1969) Peace cannot be achieved through violence, it can only be attained through understanding. -- Ralph Waldo Emerson (18! 03-1882) The most disadvantageous peace is better than the most just war. -- Desiderius Erasmus (1469-1536) There was never a good war or a bad peace. -- Ben Franklin (1706-1790) It is possible to live in peace. -- Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948) It is easier to lead men to combat, stirring up their passion, than to restrain them and direct them toward the patient labors of peace. -- Andre Gide (1869-1951) We look forward to the time when the Power of Love will replace the Love of Power. Then will our world know the blessings of peace. -- William Gladstone (1809-1898) Peace is every step. -- Thich Nhat Hahn If we are peaceful, if we are happy, we can smile and blossom like a flower, and everyone in our family, our entire society, will benefit from our peace. -- Thich Nhat Hanh Peace-making is a healing process and it begins with me, but it does not end there. -- Gene Knudsen Hoffman The goal toward which all history tends is peace,! not peace through the medium of war, not peace through a process of un! iversal intimidation, not peace through a program of mutual impoverishment, not peace by any means that leaves the world too weak or too frightened to go on fighting, but peace pure and simple based on that will to peace which has animated the overwhelming majority of mankind through countless ages. This will to peace does not arise out of a cowardly desire to preserve one's life and property, but out of conviction that the fullest development of the highest powers of men can be achieved only in a world of peace. -- Robert Maynard Hutchins (1899-1977) Nothing is more precious than peace. Peace is the most basic starting point for the advancement of humankind. -- Daisaku Ikeda They shall beat their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. -- Isaiah, II:4 Peace is the respect for the rights of others. -- Be! nito Juarez (1806-1872) A truly free society must not include a "peace" which oppresses us. We must learn on our own terms what peace and freedom mean together. There can be no peace if there is social injustice and suppression of human rights, because external and internal peace are inseparable. Peace.is not just the absence of mass destruction, but a positive internal and external condition in which people are free so that they can grow to their full potential. -- Petra Karin Kelly (1947-1992) But peace does not rest in the charters and covenants alone. It lies in the hearts and minds of all people. So let us not rest all our hopes on parchment and on paper, let us strive to build peace, a desire for peace, a willingness to work for peace in the hearts and minds of all of our people. I believe that we can. I believe the problems of human destiny are not beyond the reach of human beings. -- John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) You can't separate peace from freedom becau! se no one can be at peace unless he has his freedom. -- Malcolm X ! (1925-1965) We will not build a peaceful world by following a negative path. It is not enough to say we must not wage war. It is necessary to love peace and sacrifice for it. We must concentrate not merely on the negative expulsion of war but on the positive affirmation of peace. We must see that peace represents a sweeter music, a cosmic melody, that is far superior to the discords of war. Somehow, we must transform the dynamics of the world power struggle from the negative nuclear arms race, which no one can win, to a positive contest to harness humanity's creative genius for the purpose of making peace and prosperity a reality for all the nations of the world. In short, we must shift the arms race into a peace race. If we have a will - and determination - to mount such a peace offensive, we will unlock hitherto tightly sealed doors of hope and transform our imminent cosmic elegy into a psalm of creative fulfillment. -- Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929-1968) One day we! must come to see that peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but that it is a means by which we arrive at that goal. We must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means. -- Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929-1968) If there is to be peace in the world, There must be peace in the nations. If there is to be peace in the nations, There must be peace in the cities. If there is to be peace in the cities, There must be peace between neighbors. If there is to be peace between neighbors, There must be peace in the home.If there is to be peace in the home, There must be peace in the heart. -- Lao Tzu (570-490 B.C.) All we are saying is give peace a chance. -- John Lennon (1940-1980) If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there'd be peace. -- John Lennon (1940-1980) As things are now going the peace we make, what peace we seem to be making, will be a peace of oil, a peace of gold, a peace of shipping, a peace in brief.without mo! ral purpose or human interest. -- Archibald MacLeish (1907-1982) B! lessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God. -- Matthew, V:9 It is a good moment to repeat that a war is never won. Never mind that history books tell us the opposite. The psychological and material costs of war are so high that any triumph is a pyrrhic victory. Only peace can be won and winning peace means not only avoiding armed conflict but finding ways of eradicating the causes of individual and collective violence: injustice and oppression, ignorance and poverty, intolerance and discrimination. We must construct a new set of values and attitudes to replace the culture of war which, for centuries, has been influencing the course of civilization. Winning peace means the triumph of our pledge to establish, on a democratic basis, a new social framework of tolerance and generosity from which no one will feel excluded. -- Federico Mayor Peace may sound simple - one beautiful word - but it requires everything we have, every quality, eve! ry strength, every dream, every high ideal. -- Yehudi Menuhin (1916-1999) Establishing lasting peace is the work of education; all politics can do is keep us out of war. -- Maria Montessori (1870-1952) Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. -- John Muir (1838-1914) Dream always of a peaceful, warless, disarmed world. -- Robert Muller There is no way to peace; peace is the way. -- A.J. Muste (1885-1967) Poetry is an act of peace. Peace goes into the making of a poet as flour goes into the making of bread. -- Pablo Neruda (1904-1973) The more we sweat in peace the less we bleed in war. -- Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit (1900-1990) This is the way of peace: overcome evil with good, and falsehood with truth, and hatred with love. -- Peace Pilgrim ! Five enemies of peace inhabit us - avarice, ambition, envy, anger, and! pride; if these were to be banished, we should infallibly enjoy perpetual peace. -- Francesco Petrarch (1304-1374) To reach peace, teach peace. -- Pope John Paul II If you want peace, work for justice. -- Pope Paul VI (1897-1978) The true and solid peace of nations consists not in equality of arms, but in mutual trust alone. -- Pope John XXIII (1881-1963) Peace will be victorious. -- Yitzhak Rabin (1922-1995) Peace, development and environmental protection are interdependent and indivisible. -- Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, 1993 Peace is not the product of terror or fear. Peace is not the silence of cemeteries. Peace is not the silent revolt of violent repression. Peace is the generous, tranquil contribution of all to the good of all. Peace is dynamism. Peace is generosity. It is right and it is duty. -- Bishop Oscar Romero (1917-1980) It isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough ! to believe in it. One must work at it. -- Eleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962) The structure of world peace cannot be the work of one man or one party or one nation. It must be a peace which rests on the cooperative effort of the whole world. -- Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1882-1945) Here then, is the problem we present to you, stark and dreadful and inescapable: Shall we put an end to the human race; or shall mankind renounce war? -- The Russell-Einstein Manifesto, 1955 In the hearts of people today there is a deep longing for peace. When the true spirit of peace is thoroughly dominant, it becomes an inner experience with unlimited possibilities. Only when this really happens - when the spirit of peace awakens and takes possession of men's hearts, can humanity be saved from perishing. -- Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965) Peace is not an absence of war, it is a virtue, a state of mind, a disposition for benevolence, confidence, justice. -- Baruch Spinoza (! 1632-1677) Peace is the one condition of survival in this nuclear age. ! -- Adlai Stevenson (1900-1965) I was once asked why I don't participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I'll be there. -- Mother Theresa (1910-1997) All works of love are works of peace. -- Mother Theresa (1910-1997) If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other. -- Mother Theresa (1910-1997) Since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defenses of peace must be constructed. -- UNESCO Constitution We, Veteran's for Peace, view peace as a positively active and creative process which requires courage, commitment, endurance, vigilance, and integrity. Peace is a struggle toward unity, and it is characterized by an absence of violence in all its forms, including discrimination based on gender, age, race, religion, social and economic status, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. Those who labor for peace are called pea! cemakers because they tirelessly pursue nonviolent solutions, work for economic and social justice, celebrate diversity, and strive to build relationships between adversaries through education, conflict mediation, and humanitarian relief. We recognize that peace is both a means and end simultaneously, and that it is never finally or fully achieved. This is because change and growth require some degree of tension or conflict. Historically, such conflict has provided the impetus for military solutions. Thus we, Veteran's for Peace, strongly believe that the greatest obstacle to peace is militarism with its reliance on violence and war. We further believe that peacekeeping action should only be accomplished by a legitimate international body. -- Committee to Define Peace, Veterans for Peace Time itself becomes subordinate to war. If only we could celebrate peace as our various ancestors celebrated war; if only we could glorify peace as those before us, thirsting for adven! ture, glorified war; if only our sages and scholars together could reso! lve to infuse peace with the same energy and inspiration that others have put into war. Why is war such an easy option? Why does peace remain such an elusive goal? We know statesmen skilled at waging war, but where are those dedicated enough to humanity to find a way to avoid war> Every nation has its prestigious military academies - or so few of them - that reach not only the virtues of peace but also the art of attaining it? I mean attaining and protecting it by means other than weapons, the tools of war. Why are we surprised whenever war recedes and yields to peace? -- Elie Wiesel Peace is always beautiful. -- Walt Whitman (1819-1892)Leaves of Grass ...Show more

is education free in Australia?

Newton Fedorko: Is Education Free In Australia

Mildred Pombo: Naw mate, whilst in the public schools you don't have to pay, but at the other end of education you end up paying with the sheety job you end up on and the sheety pay..so you pay for it in the end, (said the bishop to his altar boys)

Wilburn Denice: Primary and secondary education in government schools is nominally free but most have 'voluntary' contribution requirements of a few hundred $$ for each child (up to about $800 for secondary). If parents can't or won't pay the contribution, the child must still be enrolled.Tertiary education is not free but is heavily subsidised by the government for citizens and Permanent Residents. Citizens (not PRs) are also eligible for non-means tested interest free student loans from the government which are repayable through the tax system when the individual's earnings reach a certain amount (currently $54,126). If the individual never reaches the repayment thres! hold, no repayments are required....Show more

My son starts preschool?

Rena Pepe: we haven't tried to force him. I think he just really likes to learn. He does interact with kids. He has lots of cousins, and my friends all have kids. But not large groups like at preschool. He loves to get me to read aloud to him when I am readin myself and I don't try to presurre him to learn anything. When we are practicing things if he gets frustrated or starts pretending not to know things that I know he does, I stop immediatly because I understand he is tired of doing it.

Dexter Dingus: Your boy seems to be quite a guy...It really does teach children more than you think...Preschool is more for life than for education...Or at least that's how I remember it...It taches your boy a lot of cool new stuf like crafting and other fun things.Your son is very intelligent but I suggest you send him to preschool...just in case;)

Long Woltjer: I was a preschool teacher for 2 years and in my church program we had an advanced class for intelligent children! like your son where he would still be around kids his age just in an advanced division

Pearlie Medora: your son sounds really intelligent. My daughter is 4 and i have started teaching her spanish i got her a starter kit from toys r us. It has cartoons which learn her the language she is picking it up really well. they are also availabe in chinese french and german.

Mitsuko Manne: perhaps a little more reading practice will do him good. my daughter started reading at age 3. so by the time she went to school she practically knows everything in nursery. but school boosts up her self confidence even more and develops her social skills.

Darcie Peraha: A good preschool teaches on a variety of topics mainly the ones that you mention but the main reason why you would want you child in one is the social interaction with other children.

Davina David: his really intelligent.why not you teach him the timetable and division

Cole Desher: First ask him why h! e doesn't want to go. It could be that he has some strange ide! a about what preschool is. If he doesn't really have a reason you should talk to him ahead of time and explain that you will drop him off and pick him back up later. Then when the time comes drop him off give him a quick hug and leave no matter what his reaction. My daughter was famous for this reaction she would cry, scream, and throw a fit every time I left. I felt so guilty, this went on for a week and then she would give me the same reaction when it was time to go home too. It is a pretty normal reaction and it usually only lasts a couple of minutes and the child realizes it isn't working and decides to enjoy himself. Hang in there you aren't doing him any actual psychological harm even though he wants you to think you are....Show more

Alisia Sutphen: all of what you have said is very good, remember he is still a child and needs to do more than just "school work". continue to do what you have been doing and he will continue to progress. you do not say anywhere whe! re he is interacting with other children in either small or large groups and that is a very important step for all children, if they interact well with adults that is very typical and and even interacting with family members under the age of 10-12 is very good. But he will have to regularly have to be able to interact with any where from 8-15 children on a regular basis during the school day, so b3 sure he gets to try some of that too. Art and outside physical activity is also important to growing and educating a young child so keep working on that also.and of course the best thing you can do is love him and teach him to love reading and learning in gereral so be sure you do not over stress him...Show more

Jannette Kotz: Yes i agree that Yours son performance is very good.In my point of view he will continue his study in preschool itself , because he is small boy .Each and every one must be not greater than him capacity and age.

Homework Help: Fast! Due Tomorrow! Help, help, help, please!?

Helen Zafar: My name is Riley too!!! :D

Arlen Hamper: "The expectation among the Aztecs about the return of Quetzalcoatl was considerable. Cortes’ armada arrived at Veracruz on Holy Thursday of 1519. Moctezuma Xocoyotzin II contemplated how to approach the strangers, one of whom could be Quetzalcoatl. Ruling Tenochtitlan from 1502 to 1520, Moctezuma was devoutly religious and well-read in the ancient doctrines. Moctezuma sent envoys to greet the newcomers, and the Spaniard fired shots to intimidate the greeting party. Reports went back to Moctezuma, saying: "The noise weakened one, dizzied one. Something like a stone came out of their weapons in a shower of fire and sparks. The smoke was foul; it had a sickening, fetid smell." Another message characterized the visitors as people with "very light skin, much lighter than ours. They all have long beards, and their hair comes only to their ears"The envoys also described the visitors, who traveled on horseback, as beas! ts with "two heads and six legs". Montezuma decided to meet Cortés, who ultimately, aware of his superiority, conquered Tenochtitlán. In comparison to the British colonization that occurred later in the north, the Spaniards wanted to colonize the entire continent. The British inhabited the continent more slowly and less ambitiously. Cortes viewed the death of Indians as a tragedy, considering they could help the Spanish crown tap the resources of the land. The British, on the other hand, interpreted the death of Indians as divine help to further the English cause. "I'm gonna say that Moctezuma was curious as to what the noises his greeting party heard so he wanted to find out for himself. He prob never saw a light(er) skinned person and was curious about how they would act and if they were friendly....Show more

Carter Dewater: They thought cortez and his men were gods because they had the 'hair of the suns' (they were blondes) that was in the aztec prophecies. I onl! y know that one, I'd try wikipedia.

Leisa Brodnex: Yes s! oy would go in the blank and for the next one it would be Yo estoy muy ocupada. Miguel esta enfermo hoy. and im not sure for the last one what does it mean by ser? if you let me know i can help you out ok.

I would way rather be home schooled! Help!?

Dwight Siniard: sounds like you need to maybe work this out with your parents. Have you considered a private school? Homeschooling takes a lot of time (I know, I used to be home-schooled and now i help home-school my younger siblings -I'm the oldest of 6-) Showing your parents information that might help them make that choice is a great way to start. Looking into it yourself is the best start. Perhaps making a deal with your parents. Home-schooling takes a lot of work from you too! You have to be disciplined enough to make your own schedule and stick to it! You still get tested my the state every year, so perhaps trying home-schooling and seeing how it works for you and your grade might be a good deal to make with your parents! I hope you get to stay home, but if not remember that those other kids have nothing above you and you can be strong against them, even if you aren't physically strong. Have faith and pray that God will put you where you need to be and be open to Hi! s plan for you! Keep on the straight and narrow path where you will be able to see what He wants for you, and who knows? You might end up being home-schooled after all!Good Luck!...Show more

Shad Bushweller: If home school is not an option you are going to learn how to deal with school as it is.People who can't find friends in school don't try. No kid wants to go to school.. So now you know you have something in common with all of them :)...Show more

Pattie Vold: Ive recently had to be home schooledd due to medical problems, and take classes online at Global Student Network, go ahead and look it up!! ItsAmazingg! Its really cheap compared to lots of other online schools, and the best thing is that you can do itanytimee, anywhere as long as you have internet access. Sothat'ss what i would suggest showing them, since you have moved a lot and the bulling. But i will also tell you, the bulling isn! t going to get any better when you hide from it, so maybe star! t homeschooling, but get out in the community and socialize!!!!!!!!!Hope it gets better!!Lot's of love-Christi...Show more

Home school from online?

Darwin Ecton: pennfoster.edu

Donald Caravalho: Hi, we're Briteschool and do offer LIVE lessons (with real teachers speaking to students via mic and a whiteboard) as opposed to distance learning (by correspondence). So, thanks Hannah, whoever you are, for spotting us - sorry to correct you ever so slightly :-)We do IGCSEs in the "usual" subjects (Maths, English, Science, French, History ...), as well as general lessons for those who don't want to sit exams (including Spanish, French, Japanese, Computing and Digital Photography). Some students join us for regular sessions in a group, others prefer one-to-one tuition. And we have students as young as eight in classes together - joining the sessions together at the same time as their classmates in Spain, the UK, the USA, Turkey, Japan ... :-)...Show more

Verdie Wollen: I was home schooled or as they say satelite schooled from Christian Liberty Academy Sat' School in Arlington heights IL.. They have a website, used! to have it bookmarked but not sure ..

Elvin Mannheimer: Yes, I'm sure there is although strictly speaking it is distance education rather than true home schooling. You still get to do your studying at home or wherever else you want to do it (eg at the library, at the beach, whilst travelling) anywhere basically that is outside of school and works for you. Anyway I think there is an online school (or cyber school) called Briteschool (Brit e-school). @ http://www.briteschool.co.ukThere are also a number of correspondence schools such as Oxford Homeschooling ( http://www.oxfordhomeschooling.co.uk ) which will send you everything you need to get your GCSEs independently i.e. outside of school. I think you can use email to get your assignments (both the assignment tasks and briefs as well as the marked and corrected versions) and return them to your tutors with most of the traditional correspondence schools by now.Personally I'm 15 and have been home-educated (my cou! ntry's name for home school) all my life. We homeschool proper! i.e. without any involvement from any outside agencies, distance education providers, cyberschools, correspondence schools etc. I reckon home education rox and that things like cyber schools are beneficial to people and families who maybe don't have the time or the confidence to go it entirely alone. They can be expensive (some can also be free) but if your parents are cash rich and time poor, they can be a valid and useful alternative to conventional schooling. They provide a different form of education - academia rather than co-curricular. If they are private then they have no obligation to follow the National Curriculum (just as any private school in the UK doesn't have to pay heed to the National Curriculum - neither do home schoolers). It really depends what the phrase 'a good education' means to you and your parents and what you personally are looking for from any school. Because they depend on students to work independently and there is no teacher standing over them ! telling them it is time for their maths class or asking where last week's homework is, the education provided by such schools is as good (or as lacking) as the effort and motivation of each individual student. Btw, I just assumed you're in the UK as you mentioned GCSEs. I'm not (in the UK that is!)EDIT: Have they stopped teaching critical thinking in US cyber-schools?! Do half of you ever even bother to read the question before you pile in?!? Blake is asking about a cyber school where KIDS CAN GET THEIR GCSEs. For anyone who doesn't know GCSE = General Certificate of Secondary Education. They are exams taken at age 15/16 in BRITISH SCHOOLS. How the heck do schools like Penn Foster, Agora or Christian Liberty Academy Sat' School, none of whom would prolly know what a GCSE was if it came up and bit them on the bum, have *ANY* relevance to the question asked?!? Trying to make out that such schools are, in any way, relevant to Blake's enquiry (rather than misleading) is one h! elluva stretch of the imagination by anyone's standards!!...Show more

Garrett Detone: Online school is just as reputable as ground school. I don't know what grade your kids are in or if they're in college, but I'm in online college, holding a 4.0 and I'm in Criminal Justice and have been getting an excellent education. My school is www.ctuonline.edu I recommend it to anyone who can afford it...depending on their needs and such, of course.

Donald Caravalho: samlearning.com?

Anibal Scheid: 1

Clementina Collelo: Well it is called cyber schooling. I am cyber schooled. There are teachers that you can talk to on the computer and everything. I am in the school Agora. If you enroll in that, they will send you a free laptop, books, and all other materials needed. they say what you need to do online and there are sometimes things to do online. It is really fun and easy! Yes the education is great. There are clubs you can sign up for (cooking, photography, newspaper, craft...ect.) and feild trips you can take. You go for PSSA test! s. the website says there is still time to enroll but as I said I am in this school and the 2nd semester starts the 22nd. So you will not get your books in time! lol! ♥maddiehttp://www.agora.org/...Show more

Ronny Nowzari: Online schooling is schooling done online. The course content is put online with assignments to do and submit, a teacher provides feedback, some online schools ahve a student chat area...Yes, you can get just as good of an education. And it'll probably take less time so you'll have more time to be out and about and do things.Yes, you can still do your GCSE's. Check this forum again as there's a question that was asked just after yours about GCSE's. But if you follow an online program, I'm sure the online school will be able to advise.I think online school is good for the student/family that wants an outside structure and evaluation. There's nothing barring a student from being socially active if they do school online. There's likely to be a ton of! things to do where they live. People used to be home tutored all the t! ime and they probably had better social skills than many today....Show more

Why should higher education be subsidized with taxpayer money?

Damaris Weiler: Liberals just don't understand that their plans work pretty well at first, but eventually you run out of other people's money.

Erica Bottaro: The entire nation benefits from an educated populace.Everything that can be assembled, and everything that can be repaired (including your body and teeth) and all those trades that do that work are taught using visual aids supplied by liberal arts majors. The contemporary liberal arts comprise studying literature, languages, philosophy, history, mathematics, and science. 20 Lucrative Careers You Can Get with a Liberal Arts Degreehttp://www.businesspundit.com/20-lucrative-careers...So you're trying to tell us that all of that is unnecessary? Aron Ramu: It shouldn't be. It causes prices to rise and encourages people who maybe shouldn't go to college to do so thus wasting money when they fail to complete their studies. We have shortages in teh skileld tardes and I can't help but wonder what impact the insistance that all attend college has on this. Valentine Michaud: It shouldn't for those degrees. But we do need to subsidize biologists, chemists, engineers, etc. Otherwise, we are going to fall further and further behind other countries at having the people we need to wor! k in new industries, which means they won't bother coming here.

Debora Soliani: Positive externalities, not all government spending is bad.Edit: If you want less ppl to live off the gov. it's a good idea to provide some avenues for them to do so. I do receive Pell Grants, but I also need student loans, you have to pay back loans. Once I receive my degree I will begin to pay my loans back. Once I graduate I will be teaching the children of this nation, effectively improving the nation (hopefully). You should focus more on spending that does little to no good for the country, or even harms the country as a whole....Show more

Carolynn Testani: @ Freedom That dichotomy isn't true at all. Many people who went to college make minimum wage, and many people who didn't go to college make a very comfortable living.

Jill Thomer: David;Agreed, government supported college loans are the reason for the escalating cost of college.More students require more class roo! ms, and teachers. Ditto health care expenses.

Lue Podewils: For t! he same reason education through high school is subsidized.Do you think that you should be the final voice about who gets educated about what?

Alden Sabio: The more kids can be fed to colleges - which are all about money making and not real education - the less impact on the unemployment numbers. Why subsidize higher education when it results in degrees that don't guarantee jobs especially in a dwindling economy.Liberal Arts degrees are part of the problem as they are a cop out. We need students with real degrees in the sciences and engineering....Show more

Renita Sefton: I'm with you on this one...some kids don't have what it takes to get through college and earn a meaningful degree that will contribute to society. Like Judge Smales said in Caddyshack, "The world needs ditchdiggers too."Sorry but I have to comment on the guy Pagan who answered. The guy is answering a question about college degrees and can't spell C-O-L-L-E-G-E. What a riot....Show more

H! ope Lundmark: @ Brian You're right.

Andra Oger: @ Max Hoopla Ultimately people can go to college and study whatever they want. But that doesn't mean we should fund all higher education with taxpayer money, when most of it has no economic value whatsoever. Most liberal arts degree are simply not worth the debt. This is an unavoidable conclusion.

Buster Buchko: You mean Associate Degrees. They are a prerequisite for higher degrees. Hello? In what way do you mean subsidized? Some examples to explain what you're talking about would be nice.

Rosella Figliola: It is a choice.Either it is higher education or welefare. Ater losing 78 million jobs in the last four years we know there aint no stinking jobs out there so they pay us to go to college or they pay us to party at home. Either way we PARTY ON.
