You can't really blame your doctor, because they usually have a very full schedule, and were taught in medical school that "prescription" medications were the answer to all problems. Unless your doctor is 'open' to alternative health, it would be difficult for them to conceive that nature is the best alternative. That's not what they were taught.Now, med students are 'required' to study natural solutions as opposed to synthetic or chemical reproductions (yeah!).On the other hand, though, pharmaceutical medications are able to help with symptoms of a disease, but I believe that if you start by helping your body health itself naturally, you're less likely to need the complications or side effects that chemicals will provid! e.My vote is for alternative, natural, non-preservative supplements to our diets. Asa Soho: There cannot be a debate about this topic without someone brining up the FDA - Food and Drug Administration, and how it has never, and will never approve alternative medicines, dietary supplemen! ts, etc. This is a ton of contraversy over the FDA, and how m! oney, funding, government grants and research, the medical industry, and the pharmaceutical industry are all in cohoots with one another, and in the end, its all about the money, not the people. For thousands and maybe millions of years, people have been using natural, alternative medicines to cure and treat everyday illnesses, and even deadly diseases, yet the government has never approved one of them. Hmmmmm, makes you think, right. The biggest reason is this. The government would have no way of regulating, taxing, and making money off of most of these products. How can they regulate the use of honey and lemon and ginger to treat the common cold? They can't. Karl Jantzen: The differences are 180, traditional medicine only addresses the symptoms while alternative medicine addresses the cause of disease, at least most of them do. You should ask what are the causes of disease, find the cause then you can solve the problem. Einstein once said '' when you fully understand the problem the solution becomes obvious''. There are only four causes for disease, Toxins, Nutritional deficiencies, Stress, Electromagnetic Radiation. The US government even states that most diseases are causes by nutritional deficiencies, and yet the doctors are not taught to solve nutritional deficiencies, they are taught to mask the problem with drugs, never solving the true problem.The American Medical Association is mostly funded by the drug companies, that right there is an extreme unholy alliance. I am not completely putting down traditional medicine, It is very effective in crisis management like accident! s, it only becomes an issue when profits ''share holders'' become more ! important then patients. All the inventions and devices that cure disease are either banned or bought by the FDA or companies owned by the drug companies. And it isn't just alternative medicine its alternative energy sources to, just watch who killed the electric car and you find that they couldn't make enough profits to sustain a highly efficient car, it all comes down to money. Ofelia Kieck: All medical doctors take the Hippocratic Oath to "do no harm"but invasive medical procedures do do harm for the sake of attacking the disease/tumor/etc. example: radiating a tumor kills cells around it too. chemotherapy is basically shooting enough poison to kill a cancer but stopping just before you die. Even surgery is invasive, painf! ul and has lots of risks. Plus, with tests getting more detailed, more people are being diagnosed for everything, and therefore getting more invasive treatments before nature has time and chance to heal them.Many alternative medicines really "do no harm." rather thana attacking the disease violently (which causes casualties) they work to boost the immune system or correct imbalances so that the first cause of the disease is addressed, not just cutting out the symptoms like doctors do. hope that gives you something to think about...Show more
