Stanton Villao: My wife wanted to run to the chapel the day we got our license.(with the real wedding still months away.)I was an idiot and said no. I was a real idiot and was just thinking too practical.Lots of people have the civil ceremony and have the church wedding later.Nothing wrong with that....Show more
Marita Stadick: yes i have, check out my web page,http://youtu.be/4qIiNxU4kRY
Maynard Phoubandith: Regardless of how many ''weddings'' a couple choose to have there is ONLY ONE REAL wedding & that is the exchange of vows in a ceremony conducted by an authorised celebrant & witnessed by 1/2 people according to the laws where you live. This is followed be the signing of any legal documents.Any other ceremony/ celebration after that is a vow renewal or church blessing. At least this is the case in most western cultures. A real wedding is NOT the fancy outfits , reception for everyone you know - but as stated perviously the exchange of vows between the cou! ple however that happens even if the participants are only wearing jeans,t shirts & are barefoot....Show more
Alisa Kaleiwahea: So I myself have never had two weddings but I have planned someone in a similar situations second wedding. Your first wedding should just be you and your future husband at townhall or a registry it's just so you can get the piece of paper. The second time is your real wedding you were a dress and have all your family there, legally the second wedding is just renewing or confirming your vows but it will be the one you remember.
German Thal: Has this been done? Yes.BUT most people don't feel it is appropriate - and unless there is a MAJOR extenuating circumstance, I don't feel it is appropriate. If you were engaged, planning to marry & one of you was about to be deployed -- I would be OK with you running to a JOP just in case something bad happened you had at least been legally married. My parents technically had 2 weddings. My Dad wa! s divorced and Mom is Catholic & the Catholic church refused t! o marry them unless Dad's 1st marriage was annulled by the Catholic church. Back in the 1970's when my parents met, annulments took YEARS so my parents married in a Unitarian Church. After a lengthy time, my Dad's annullment of 1st marriage went through and they did have a Catholic wedding. Mom wore a blue dress & Dad a suit. A couple of close relatives were there -- but it was by no means a whole "do over" wedding with white dress, bridesmaids, flowers, reception etc. It was important to my mother to be married in her church, so when my parents were able, they did it....Show more
Donnell Nocella: i had two weddings the right waywith two different wives.your wedding is your wedding.that was your choice. to go thru this again because you want the fairy tail, you already chose another way, i will never figure it out why
Jene Kostyla: it depends on cultures. In Asia it is common to have a separate western and traditional wedding. Some European countries like Germ! any do not recognize religious marriages. So couples need to have two weddings, one in a courthouse that is legally recognized and another in a church. It is less common in the U.S. to have two weddings, but it is not unheard particularly with people in military situations lke yours....Show more
Jen Maday: You have one wedding, the other is a renewal of vows or basically a "fake" ceremony for your family and friends you want to include. The reason you can only have one official wedding is because you can only sign the marriage license one time. After that, you are married.
Randall Twehous: It is done, but usually a vow renewal, unless you do it, don't say a word to anyone, speak with officiant beforehand if he will say vows or change a little then when you are supposed to sign the license, just sign the certificate that is available for you to put on the wall, not the real license. but you may get caught, better to have a vow renewal or just wait.
