What Dog Toy Can't Be Destroyed?

Tatiana Evanosky: i would possibally get him some toys that deposit treats out of them so he is more concerned with getting the treats out and not so concerned with actually destroying the toy.....i would also get the black kong for him...even if he can't chew it up it will keep him busy trying and that way he still has something to do........good luck with him I love rotties!!!!

Derrick Smsith: I have a 9 wk old puppy and he loves to play in the yard since I live in the country and I feel safe letting him run around for a small bit of time alone but now he has noticed my boyfriends compost pile and tries to eat the things in it. Is it harmfull for him to be around and also How can I keep him from it. I told him no and bad dog when he goes to it and it seemed to work but I want to be certain.

Rickey Vrieze: Kong Extreme Black makes a bone-shaped toy in addition to the traditional 'beehive' shaped toy. We have one for my boyfriends dog because he destroys eve! rything, but so far he hasn't gotten through that one. You can also give him a basketball or something to roll around, he shouldn't be able to pop those. Also, buy the large treated marrow bones. They are white, hollow, and come in various sizes. It's very difficult to even chip a tiny piece off, let alone crack it in half. You can also buy them with a soft filling they can lick out....Show more

Idell Syed: If it is male (trans female), you could cut off its penis

Randal Deyarmond: Try the Orbee toys at Planet dog.http://www.planetdog.com/dog-toys.asp

Eva Lichlyter: Best way is to reward him, when you tell him no bad dog, then give him a treat if he walks away, another technique is to ignore him , he may be doing it to get your attention so if you only give him attention when he is away from it that might work. The above worked on my puppy.

Rebbecca Sorkin: Bill Nye, The Pervy Guy, says Yes . . . you must help it be what it wants to be - not what ! it is.

Coleman Deliberato: So far today the Troll Basset! Hound score is 3 out of 10.

Cedric Grimstead:

Antonia Mogg: Some more stupidity.

Donella Vasta: I use a Deer antler for my dogs. The Vet told us that they were excellent for cleaning there teeth and are full of calcium. We have a white German Shephard and a Black Lab and one medium size antler will last them about a year or more.

Luke Kosch: Kong makes mini tires that are great for puppys. I have a pit bull mastiff mix, and she hasnt even tore it yet. Makes a long lasting toy...I guess Ive had it for over a year now.Its worth the price....Show more

Rayford Latz: I have had a pitbull for 3 years now and trust me I know exactly what you are going through! I used to get her every toy I could find in hopes of finding one to last more than a few hours and finally found it just a few months ago. It was at a local pet store (but I'm sure you can find it at any pet store). It is a rawhide bone with some kind of substance inside that dogs love. They! come in different sizes and the medium one works great for my dog - its about a foot long and 2 -3 inches in diameter. I one time bought something similar but it wasn't the same... she ate it in mins. This one she has been chewing on since christmas and still loves it! It is also great for puppies... we bought the small one for our beagle pup and he loves it too....Show more

Betsey Muehlbach: My dog seems to like purina. The vet clinic sent us home with science diet. Depends on how their stomachs handle it. I got chef michael(i think). And my dog got terrible terrible gas from it so that was the end of that.Be careful about advertising and price. The most expensive one probably isn't the best.

Ronnie Panas: Kongs are the best.

Shane Getler: I feed my Chihuahua "ZiwiPeak". It is the best out there to me. It is all meat and organs, nothing else. No useless stuff that is just used to fill the dog up. It is also air dried instead of being highly processed! , like all kibble is. This food is more like a soft jerky. My other dogs! get Orijen Regional Red and it is the best kibble form dog food I know. It has 80% meat that is passed fit for human consumption and is grain free. The company is pretty trustworthy in my opinion too.Other good brands include Acana Grain Free, Nature's Variety Instinct, Before Grain, EarthBorn Holistic Grain Free, Wellness CORE, Canidae Grain Free Pure, and EVO....Show more

Ardelia Liptow: Been feeding my dog Iams since he was 6wks in the stages from puppy to adult. He is a 5yr chihuahua. I have been reading that Iams is really not as good as they say and also heard that about Science Diet. Would like some info on what is best.

Oren Eskelsen: Make a fence around the pile. This will take the temptation away.

Emile Midgley: I feed Taste Of The Wild, My personal oppinion is whatever your dog does good on and thrives on I am a breeder of American Bulldogs and have 2 of them that do not do good on any Holistic food tried everyone i could. I feed them Purina On! e Large breed its the only food they thrive on. The rest do get Taste of The Wilf though. I wish they could eat TOTW but they get Diareah, they vomit and they loose there hair. aswell as drop Weight horribly. yes iams and brands alike arnt good but in my personal oppinion to feed your dog what they do good and thrive on....Show more

Russell Mckinzie: My Uncle had a dog that murdered every single toy in mere seconds--then begged for more-----he loved doing it------He bought some GREAT toys from petdepot.comthey actually categorize them according to the destructibility and some of these were NEVER destroyed----and the dog loved them.

Francisco Schonhardt: Most likely the only way to keep your pup away from it is to fence it in, or build a run for your pup so he can't get to it.

Morris Olexy: My dog eats Iams too. I have had many an arguement on here about it, but she is fine. And at every yearly vet appointment the vet asks what she eats, and never says an! ything about it. I am sure there are better quality foods, but don't b! e fooled that you are a jerk for feeding your dog whatever you think is fine. My dog also tries to eat dead gophers elk antlers, grass, garbage and deer poop...I would probably get sick, but she doesn't. It's a dog.

Willie Tun: By my 100 lb lab mix, so far nothing has survived! LOL! But, I try to get lots of digestible raw hide chewies to help with this (not the cheap raw hides). Also, I get most of my dog toys from a "dollar" store, so at least the ones that get destroyed are cheap.

Dulcie Edis: ask your vet or go to the petstore where they have people with the knowledge. they could assist you better with this problem.

Barton Slisz: I have 2 GSD (1 black and 1 white) and the ONLY thing that have not damged is the Kongs. They last for years. Anything else (fence, soda cans, $90 baseball glove, shoes, even rocks they destroy.Could it be you just had bad luck with that one Kong?

Fritz Hawkey: give him an iron rod, Im sure he will have a tough time w! ith that. woof.

Spencer Heidtbrink: Some toys, such as nylabones, are made to be eaten, and are thus safe to occupy your pup. If he can break a kong, I'd stick with the safe digestion toys. Try dogtoys.com

Bryant Chaudhry: I agree 100% with Planet Dog toys. They are rated by a chew o meter. The higher the number on the chew o meter the tougher it is. I have 2 90 pound Goldens who have had thier Plante dog toys forever and they are still in good shape. They have a web site. PlanetDog.comTheir a small company out of Portland, ME I was at their store and they are nicest people....Show more

Cuc Gire: Wysong Epigen, Pinnacle, Brothers Complete, Organic Natural Balance and Kibbles n Bits Bistro Meals all help dogs. So does Halo, Fromm, maybe Nutrisource and more. Of course, raw is the best, like Bravo.

Hyo Hardell: My 45 pound nova scotia duck tolling retriever has destroyed the biggest black kong toys. Bike tires tend to last her a little longer.! For 4 hours your dog can handle not having toys. Its better to let the! dog go without toys when you can't supervise them, heavy chewers can get pieces off toys and choke on them.

Adelle Weight: I feed my dog Blue Wilderness. She loves it and it's healthy and holistic. Science Diet, Iams, Purina, Beneful, Kibble 'N' Bits, etc. are all horrible dog food brands.

Maye Delk: They make toys that look like little tires (you can get them at Petco and Petsmart) that are made out of a similar material as the black kongs. You can also try the Nylabone durables (not the totally eatable ones, the ones made for chewing). They are like a really tough plastic bone that is impregnated with meat flavor.

Abel Adger: hey, i thought to gave you some ideas what you can buy for youre string dog ? sound like he loves to chew on things that he can handle doing. but i was searching what kinds safer dogs toys you might want to get for youre dog instead. these toys are only at the petsmart store. i thought he like to chew on something maybe you can! get him a large size of dog choobles meaty beef bone , or even Loofa plush dog toys or even slobber stopper its a dog hard toys that has a rubber hard ball with a rope . or maybe get a briteflying disc that you can play with youre dog outside . or tug 'n' toss jolly ball with handle . a super 8 tug dog toy kong stuff a ball with rope instead . well where did i found those toys from the petsmart.com they got alot of cool toys for dogs ....Show more

Davina Shindler: Iams, Purina, Pedigree, and all those other dog foods that can be purchased a your local grocery store are the worst brands out there. You should be feeding your dog a healthy holistic dog food such as Taste Of The Wild, Blue Buffalo, Wellness, Performatrin, Nutro Max, etc. It's a bonus if the food is grain free. You can talk to your local Pet Store owner for advice on healthy foods to feed your little Chihuahua. Typically Vets will recommend Science Diet but it is NOT the best food out there!.! ..Show more

Arnette Dominici: pig's earit'll take him a while to ! finishit is a good dog treatand you don't have to worry about him eating it because it's a bonea whole bag of bigs ear's ar about 1-3 dollars...Show more

Mario Stricklan: Orijen. Hands down. http://www.orijen.ca/orijen/about/I have fed my dog:- Taste of the Wild. Best food for the price (not as good as Orijen, but half the cost)- Blue Wilderness (not better than TOTW, but more expencive)- Instinct (same as Blue Wilderness)- Wellness CORE (gave my dog massive diareah) Iams and Science Diet are horrible foods (look at the ingedients compared to the ones in the foods listed above)...Show more

Hilton Paiva: Kong toys are specifically made for heavy chewers. Can you get a smaller size of the black kong? The regular size one works really well for my dog and he eats everything. They also make real animal bones that have been hollowed out and boiled. My dog can't chew those up either. The thick Nylabone rubber bones work really well and Petsmart sells toys that look l! ike tires and are also made out of that hard rubber.

King Bringle: Blue Buffalo is a best food that can be found at PetSmart or Petco. The first ingredient in their foods is meat, which is how it should be.It's also corn/wheat/soy free so it won't risk any allergies.

Verdie Wollen: And how exactly do you know that, troll?

Carlee Tangaro: try a bone like a rawhide dogs love them and their great for chewing...also my dog loves greenies and a variety of other ones

William Vickerman: It's great that you're being proactive about feeding your dog better quality food. There are a lot of good dog foods available. It's really a question of what is better for your dog. You should be shopping in a pet specialty store rather than a grocery store or club store. Look for naturally preserved dog food with the first ingredient high quality pure protein, no chicken by-products, ground yellow corn or artificial colours or flavours. Then start looking for the essentia! l vitamins and minerals dogs need for great health and extra ingredient! s like glucosamine and chondroiton for healthy joints, antioxidants and omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids for healthy skin and coat. It helps to look at customer satisfaction, guarantees and the longevity of the company when making a choice. I've attached a few links for you including guidelines on how to switch foods. You should take at least a week to switch foods to reduce the risk of dietary upset. The one I recommend is Nutro Ultra Small Breed Adult. It meets all these requirements and is also specifically designed for small breeds like your boy. Small breeds really like the taste and you can also get cans, biscuits and pate of the same quality to give him some variety and healthy treats. Nutro has been around over 80 years and their dog food is 100% guaranteed....Show more
