How do you deal with hecklers and still keep a show entertaining while performing??

Jefferson Sarson: Tune them out. Just think about your next song and focus on that. If they can't get a rise out of you most will shut up.If they don't then either a) they're professional assholes or b) you're in thee wrong venue for your music.

Rosalba Lingner: if you love your music, then your heart will tell you the answer.dont just do shows to put on a show, know where your performing, and talk to the crowd! ask them what they want/like, just be open to all criticism.

Douglass Sarley: Don't take any tips from Michael Richards. Remember not everyone in the world is going to like what you do there will always be someone who doesn't like what you do. That does not mean that as a band you are bad. You just need to tune them out and continue to put on your best performance.

Morris Cuomo: either ignore them or make a witty comment back but don't waste time with them thats what they want. like if someone yells you suck simply state "wow thanks" or somet! hing simple. keeping the crowd entertained....have something they need to clap with or have them sing a part of the song that the most popular with everyone. i've gone to a lot of shows and i noticed that the crowd gets there energy from the band so make sure your not up on stage just standing there. get out there to have fun and they will follow along!! good luck with your band!...Show more

Ronny Dorge: You could be playing to the wrong crowds - my band has been booked with bands playing folk to death metal. The crowd might be unappreciative of your efforts or unimpressed with your music.Sometimes, crowds just don't care. This is especially true if you're playing in bars. They talk through your set and there's no applause. It's just part of playing out.As for hecklers, if you're witty, you can always come back with a retort - no direct insults though and try not to curse. You also have the mikes and the loud equipment - you can always drown them out with sheer volum! e.Remember that just one heckler can make a crowd of 100 seem ! hostile. So sometimes it's all in your mind.As for keeping crowds entertained and energetic, you could throw in a couple of covers so they have some familiarity and can rock out to songs they know....Show more

Salvatore Walls: Talk to a professional stand-up comic and get some ideas. Most stand-up comics are experts at dealing with jerks in the audience.

Carter Dewater: Whoa, we could be twins!. Maybe you just need some practice, or you could be playing in the wrong venues for your style.
