Mario Stricklan: How about puzzles, kids love giant floor puzzles. You can also start them on games, memory ones or candyland etc.. Playmobil makes great, durable play sets for both ages. Any toys that let your child's imagination flow free with interactive play will always be educational. Sometimes the simpler the better. Save the V-tech for when kids are on a car trip but not for everyday play. There's plenty of time for them to be looking at a computer screen.
